Mind Trip of the Week # 56: Clever Colgate

Our friend Dale sent this to us. Dales loves the Mind Trip of the Week and we enjoy getting Mind Trips that our friends have discovered and that we can share with all of you.
Now look at these three pictures:
Wouldn’t you agree that food in our teeth is distracting?

Well, now that you had time to look closely at the pictures …you should note that in the first image the woman has an extra finger, in the second image the gentleman is missing an ear, and in the third picture there is an extra arm.
I think this is a great example of selective attention. The food in the teeth is where our eyes focus first, because it looks so out of place that we don’t even notice the other things. I got sucked into it and I am sure many of you did as well!
Big cudos to a clever ad campaign for Colgate. The question for you is: next time you go to buy toothpaste or floss will you laugh when you see Colgate? Will you buy Colgate? Please let us know in the comments below.
